This article discusses the use of verbal forms of conditional sentences that contain the co,yunction if the protasis. As has traditionally maintained, these structures allow each person to express what !S, suspicion, sense, imagine or dream about events or situations that occurred or may occur. The purpose is to determine the frequency of use of verbal tenses and moods of conditionals produced by speakers of Spanish in Caracas. The study was realized on the Sociolinguistic Corpus of Caracas 1987, of which the cases were extracted object of analysis by means of the program WordSmith Tools (Scott 1999) version 3, function . The obtaining the number of cases, the correlation of the data, and statistical analysis were performed using Excel software. The results indicate that speakers of Caracas tend to employ more often the present tense in both sides of the conditional sentence, pro tas is (subordinate) and apodosis (main). The present of the indicative is the verbal form that is used more in real conditionals or with a high possibility of realization of the enunciated condition
