Resumen

The succession of the Archbishop of Caracas Críspulo Uzcátegui, which took place in 1903 with the election of Juan Bautista Castro as archbishop coadjutor with right of succession, was surrounded by a sharp conflict in the clergy of Caracas, in which two distinct factions vied the government of the archdiocese.
