The conversation with a ontotheological reality is no longer possible. In this paper are explored the relationship between the universalist aspirations of Habermas philosophy and a religion that, in his opinion, should aspire to be rejlective to get to influence the public sphere. For this purpose, Habermas invokes the notion of "methodological atheism ", with which it is possible a translation of the sacred to the profane content, ie the continuation of dialogue with God would only be possible within the discursive domain created by the Enlightenment. However, none of the two worlds, the profane and the sacred, must carry out mutual actions of hostile takeover.
