Identidad, política, xenofobia y ética

Resumen

The current essay pretends to aboard the notion of nationalism, understanding its problem from a scientific point of view, and trying to achieve a systematic answer. This notion will allow us to reflect other importan! elements of the social structure, through its historical relations, as it is revealed in other notions such as identity, politics, xenophobia and ethics. The problem will be presented in four parts. First we will approach different concepts of nation and national identity, and its implications in the Venezuelan reality. Second, the political dimension of the nationalism, beginning by its definition, then its difference with other concepts such as patriotism, and its different manifestations in precapitalist societies, capitalist societies. The third part is a brief commentary about recen! manifestations of xenophobia in Venezuela. Our last and fourth part will consider the minimum ethical principies that demands this problem in our societies.
