Resumen

The current essay pretends to analyze the so called Transcendentals in the medieval Thought. These are properties by means of which the Being is communicated to the entities. Such realities were expressed through the use of four main categories: unum, verum, bonum and pulchrum. We will begin with the genesis of the quaestio and the way in which Thomas of Aquinas deals with it through his classical approach. This will help us move forward to the relevance and actual treatment of this categories in contemporary Thought, through the propasa! of an important author such as Hans Urs van Balthasar.
