VIOLENCIA Y LIDERAZGO POLÍTICO EN VENEZUELA

Resumen

The purpose of my article is to explore sorne anthropological causes that might be at the roots of the delinquen! urban violence that seem to have increased in Venezuelan society in the last years. In fact, Venezuela has one of the highest homicide rates of the world, if the unojficial number of 16.047 homicides only in 2009 (for a population of around 24 million), turns out to be accurate. 1 consider anthropological and psychological hypotheses, in particular those theses concerning the consequences of narcissistic political leadership for the institutional structure of a society, and stress the necessity of reinforce the deliberative nature of social institutions, and their normative system of obligations and rewards, in arder to defeat the homicide violence that grows alarmingly among us.
