Resumen

Thomas of Aquinas dedicates the first quaestio of the Summa Theologiae to the subject of the theology assuming a general perspective. De sacra Doctrina, qualis sil, et ad quae se extendat: this is the title with which he begins his work. The jirst article discusses if the philosophy is, for the man, a sufficient knowledge and, then, in the second article, studies a problem of our interest: Utrum sacra doctrina sit una scientia. The question is urgen! for a theologian of the XIII century that, like the Angelicus, does not misestimate the decisive importance of the aristotelian philosophy and, therefore, of the concept of science that he propases. The discussion was difficult. In effect, there were theologians who sentenced: « Vituperabiles sunt doctores sacrae scripturae philosophica documenta miscentes». The bíblica! reference used in the ratio theologica of sorne theologians was clear: it is not necessary to mix the wine of the faith with the water of the philosophy. But Thomas is not frightened and answered: « Unde illi utuntur philosophicis documentis in sacra.
