Resumen

The cartesian thought bursts into the western culture undermining the bases of the aristotelian-thomist tradition in its more fundamental foundations. The classic notion of substance is questioned, especially within sciences such as physics. The current essay intends to show how the new scientific model proposed by Descartes, affects the traditional notion of substance, insisting on the concept of corporal substances. This will make possible to understand the implications of what this french philosopher propases with his metaphysical theory.
