In brief historical outlines and some shallow valuations, the author presents a series of principal characters in the Spain that came to America: the Catholic Kings, some of their ministers and the most significant collaborators, especially those who had to do with the American enterprise. They are only eight characters of that time. In the second part, he does the same thing with some of the majar discovery protagonists and first Governments of the "la Española" island, from Columbus to his son Diego, briefly introducing some settler figures and, more in detail, the Dominican missionaries who gave the first cry of "la Española" on December 21, 1511. lt ends with evaluative conclusion from these early encounters of Spaniards and Antillean indigenous
