Resumen

In the town of Barinitas, Capital Parish of the municipality of Barinas State, The Holy week is commemorated, as in ali Christian countries, with celebrated masses, processions with images from the temple, among other rituals; but particularty on Good Friday, the members of the Guild or Society of the Holy Sepulcher carry the image by dancing a sort of dance of backward and forward steps up to "El Calvario" and it is likewise returned to the temple befare the blessing of the jire and the water, on Holy Saturday (Easter Eve). This tradition allows establishing linkage between Catholic traditions inherited from the Hispanic factor, through the Missionaries during the colonial period, but also to the persistence of ancestral rituals, proper of primitive groups that probably populated the transitional geographical area between the plains and the mountains in times prior the conquest. For the study, bibliographic sources are interpreted, ecclesiastical documents and testimonial sources are compiled, through which the devotion to the image of the temple can be studied from the end of the 19th Century to the 21 st Century; so that the ethno historical synthesis can be perform, about a mental historical process, as to a phenomenon of longwise duration because it persists after the encounter of the cultures during the 16th Century.
