Federalism as political system is present in Venezuela's history since 1811. All our Constitutions, until 1999, defined the Nation as a decentralized Federal State. This notion seems to be in danger today. The distribution of the public power is being called by the Reform in terms of a "new geometry of the power". This really means, that in the new Socialist State, decentralization is almost eliminated, and concentration of power by the National Government promoted. The study of the political system that emerges from this attempt of Reform of the National Constitution is our main goal in this essay
