Resumen

Las Casas tells us about a very special moment that on this date, May 27th, 1514, meant a lot to his conversion to the American Indian World. There were of course some things that made him get to that very first conversion as a clergyman pioneer. The consecuences of this first conversion will deepen when he enters into the Friars Preachers community, though that did not happen until 1522. In this current year of 2014, it is very agreeable to remember this happening and its consecuenses that took him to become the American Indian cause heroe before the Spanish realm. Among these consecuenses, an importan! and foremost one for his own thought and activity is the profound comphension ofhumanfreedom. Freedom that is essentially necessary to accept Christian faith, still this same faith will eventually take him to defend the American Indian freedom as human beings entitled to benefit from it, so as to the claim in favor of the Indian people not to letting themselves down to Hispanic domain, neither papal donation nor violent conquest or slavery through running an errand. In the end, spreading the Word was decisive.
