Toe present essay pretends to analyze and question the relevance of Marxism as a mediation for Christians in their political praxis. For this purpose we will present the fundamental difference between Christianity as an experienced and religious faith, and its theoretical mediations, and of other types, that one must resort far being able to incarnate itself indeed in social reality. Given its serious epistemological boundaries and, mainly, the deep moral nihilism presented in its anthropological and political proposal, Marxism cannot be, as a system, accepted in concordance with a Christian perspective and praxis oflife. We will finally analyze sorne values and implications of the liberal democracy in the development of man considered through Christian faith. We will conclude with a brief reflection about the importance that has the active participation of Christians in our modem political life and the ethical implications that it involves.
