-- The author tries to make a historical analysis of the conformation of the Social Imaginary in Venezuela, making emphasis in the way in which it was structured through the key word «Freedom», and its breakup from the insurgency of the key word «Nation». This new structure took place within the chronological framework of the 16th century. The construction of our imaginary map, appears to be organized in three knots of bifurcation (hypothesis) which give origin to thirty one ways. The different theoretical positions that feed the proposal of the author, allude to the currents ofHistory ofthe Mentalities, Anthropology ofthe lmaginary and Sociology of History, such as it is proposed by Helio Jaguaribe. In the final part ofthe essay, the author uses Cultural Fields Theory (Bourdie), in orderto explain the cultural component of the Venezuelan crisis: the economic . culture, the political culture, the culture in strict sense, the ethnic culture and the intemational culture, understood as the relation of Venezuela with the world.
