-- The Catholic Church hada significant role to play during Venezuela's Independence process. As ali colony settletments, the Church establishment suffered deep political disagreements in the course of war, which examination around these bicentennial celebrations has been shown by many scholars. This paper's idea is to show us the role some important Church members have played in the
political field linked to April 19th, I 8/0. The Catholic Church firmly rejected ali rioting outbreaks and sedition around that date but the colony crisis also touched the religious sphere and the Nineteenth Century Church had the react among faithfulness to monarchy or support the new state of power who took control away formally withheld by Spanish monarchy officers
