-- The author discusses two new contexts for the proposition of the moraltheological discourse: secularity and globalization. The first has to deal with the fundamental morals, the second offers a new aspect to the concrete moral guidance.
The challenge of secularism leads to rethink basic issues, such as the relationship between religion and ethics, and between jaith and commitment. In the context of secularity the pro pos al of civil ethics arises, the moral core convergent beyond the differences between the non religious ethics and the religious moral. On the other hand, the moral-theological discourse should accept the rationality within a discursive process, that respects the autonomy or secularity of human mediations.
Globalization suggests a human process where there are multiple factors. lts significant nucleus is the trend towards globalization of human life. The historie achievement of globalization, like that ojal! human phenomenon, is ambivalent: it can be usedfor the good as wellfor the evil. Hence, it is necessary ethical orientation. This guidance consists in making a globalization ''from" and ''far" the human subject. This guidance is expressed in the axiom of "globalization of human solidarity."
