Resumen

-- The subject of political and economical power in the Old Testament is studied from the data provided by the Bible, or what we could infer with probability, about the monarchist power in the kingdoms of Israel and Judah, due to the fact that this political form lasted many centuries and it is related and evaluated in the Old Testament. Then we consider sorne texts where the ideological foundation of this sort of power is present. A form of power that is never made divine and that should show itself in the defense of the socially weak. We evaluate later on sorne criticism of the prophets about the accomplishment or not of this ideal, in the same way as the historical appreciation of the Deuteromist about the historical development of the monarchy. Only here, we briefly study the subject of the power of the empires, as it is viewed by the biblical prophets. Afterwards, we review sorne texts that aim to a possible restoration of the monarchy after the exile, rethinking its task, and mainly its means and power. Finally, we approach briefly the economical power, from its functionality and use by the monarchy, in arder to present a decalogue of conclusions that we can obtain from the steps made in our reflection.
