Resumen

-- The present writing has as aim offer the referential frame of the political, economic and ecclesiastic reality of the Venezuela of end of the 19th century, in arder to contextualize the beginnings of the work of the Mother Candelaria. One emphasizes, in addition, that this evangelizing labor and her attention to the poor it coincided with other similar initiatives of a Church that with incipient vitality, she answered to her historical moment, in spite of the precarious conditions with which she was appearing to 20th century.
