DISCERNIMIENTO DE MEDELLÍN SOBRE LA SITUACIÓN LATINOAMERICANA

-- Medellin intends to understand and assume the renewal spirit of Vatican II Council, but making of a very active reception, in the context of Latín American Church. Medellin takes up the task of interpreting the signs of the times in our continent, and will concretize the following options:
a) Options for the poor, being the Church, the Church of the poor.
b) Option far liberation.
c) Option for the Ecclesial Christian Communities, ECC, as manner of being a Church.
d) Option far social justice.
e) Option far a Church that intends to be prophetic.
This second General Conference of the Latín-American episcopate, concretization of Vatican II Council in Latin America, represented a beginning of a new phase in the lije of the Church in our continent, and was a compass that oriented the journey of the last four decades. In addition Medellin has suggested the themes of the following conferences of the Latín-American episcopate.
