The Manichaeans add some apocryphal books to the Scripture, while using a "sui generis” hermeneutics to interpret the sacred texts, in a way that justifies the teachings of Mani, founder of the sect. Saint Augustine faces their errors when reading and interpreting the Scripture. He makes clear that the Scripture is only one, articulated and structured to andfrom the person ofChrist, which reveals the one and true God.He establishes a vital relationship between the Scripture and the Church, and deals with the theology of Mani. We will present both perspectives.
