CRITERIOS DE DISCERNIMIENTO SOBRE LO ECONÓMICO, LO POLÍTICO Y LO SOCIAL, DESDE LA PERSPECTIVA CRISTIANA

Resumen

-- The author approaches, in the first place, the condition of quasi-God that in the human heart tends to acquire power and wealth. For that reason, a merely rational treatment of those earth realities is more difficult and instrumental and its discernment requires an attitude related to "blessed are the poor in spirit, because of them it is the kingdom of heavens". The human heart is creative of "Gods" and for that reason tend to dominate the others, as much with its actions as with the institutions and societies that creates. In second place we'll approache the limits of the rational "laws" in economy, policy, social behavior and in technology. Any pretension of total autonomy of ali moral consideration, is either ilusory or cheating in ali the areas in which the human conduct is decisive. This is applied to the pretension of a economy free of ethics, authority and law, that frame the activities of production and distribution as ordered to common wealth.
The social doctrine of the Church reads, in this sense, the terrible experience of an economy in which success is measured by the appropriation of the human life throug society, putting in evidence their transformation thourg certain domination instruments. Policy and State are not neutral neither superior referees, that are free ofhuman passions and discernments. This is inseparable of social structures and relations. Finally, the criteria for understanding Christian action, in the perspective of liberation, in the present state ofVenezuela, require an applied understanding of the specific paradoxes concerning a country constructed over a petroleum wealth and a majority and increasing poverty in its people. The cruel distortions of the way that the Govemment uses the oil rent and the cultural deformations that entail, must be revealed in order to reorient them. The author indicates sorne attachment lines to surpass and to rearrange the country.
