-- After sorne introductory remarks, the paper begins with an allusion to the misfortunes from 609 and especially that of 587. It deals with the issue about the experience of God reflected in the Book, which is that of Jeremiah, but also that of his disciples. It is explained that the misfortune is brought about by God (586) but it finds its cause in humanity. Along with misfortunes, there is discouragement on the Prophet and his followers. This appears clearly in the testimony ofthe "confessions" and "complaints". Finally, they express the pain of the Prophet and the pain of his God; and the hope against al! hope on the horizon of our human history, as in most ofthe Hebrew Bible.
