SOBRE LA FORMA DEL QUEHACER TEOLÓGICO Y LA INTERPRETACIÓN DE LOS SIGNOS DE LOS TIEMPOS

Resumen

-- One of the great questions that have moved the human spirit and talent throughout all times, beyond the question of the existence or not of God, has been the question of its presence and action, and the historical form of its possible manifestation, and still more, the possibility of finding and recognizing this presence throughout history. Here we find ourselves with the importance of approaching, in this paper, the problem of recognizing and interpreting signs of times, in order to review the form of all theological task. The subject takes us, first, to assume a position about the possibility and way of God's real presence in history. Second, due to the symbolic and historical character of this presence's form, we'll have to deal with the recognition in faith of visible signs. Third, this recognition does not exhaust nor guarantees the interpretation of the event, it should be assumed as a gratuitous manifestation that calls to introduce ourselves in a process that humanizes. At last, the conformation of the theological task is affected, as much in its method as in its content, by the fact of recognizing and interpreting prophetic signs of hope throughout our history. In this context we will try to find a criterion that can help us in the process of recognizing and interpreting a historical event as a sign of times, so and it has been exposed by the Second Vatican Council and Medellín, that is to say, as a process that makes us more human, through the manifestation of a greater and gratuitous presence that acts by making us brothers. The criterion will be, then, the humanization, understood as a historical creation and recreation of brotherhood and fellowship, in order to constitute the believing experience in an authentic challenge that can be affected by the demanding step of transforming life's less human conditions toward more human conditions.
