Resumen

-- Through four selected texts of the Gospel of John (11, 1-16, 15, 1-17; 16, 16 - 24; 17, 9-19) we try to deep the semantic field of the joy of Jesus described by the Evangelist with the terms xmpav and xapa. This study is the complementarity of other published in this same journal TER No. 52 about "The joy of God proclaimed by Jesus through sorne synoptic parables ". John offers the possibility to discover the spirit of Jesus filled with joy due to the faith which the disciples will receive a/ter the resurrection of Lazarus (11, 15). In the two texts that constitute the Second Speech ofthe Last Supper (Jn 15,1-16, 33) Jesus invited insistently the disciples to establish a relationship of intimate communion with him in arder to receive his joy and that will fil! their heart (J 5, 1 l); although this joy of the disciples is preceded by sadness and anguish of having lost Jesus, it will be recovered when Jesus returns and they will see him, because their presence is a source ofjoy far them (16, 20- 22). Jesus in his prayer to the Father requests that the joy he feels at the
farewell accompanied them on their mission. In these texts we analyzed, John tells us that the joy of Jesus can not be separated from the disciples 'joy. He is the so urce and origin of the same. His joy will pass to the disciples, as a lifegiving current, will remain in them as a gift that he makes them through the Spirit and will be transmitted at the same time the believers who are in the world.
